Hydrolysis of terminal, non-reducing β-D-glucosyl residues with release of β-D-glucose. Wide specificity for β-D-glucosides. Some examples also hydrolyse one or more of the following: β-D-galactosides, α-L-arabinosides, β-D-xylosides, β-D-fucosides.
